Finance

Herlufsholm is a private school, which – like all private schools in Denmark – receive public funds to keep going. These are not sufficient, and that is the reason we have to charge parents, both day student and boarder parents.

School fees

On the page school fees you may view the current tariffs set out in a table, including admission fee and deposit.

in 2009/10 the price for a boarder is DKK 110,400 per year. This covers tuition, lodging, food, washing, and nurse care etc.

A day student will have to pay DKK 36,3000 per year. This includes lunch every school day.

IB students  are more expensive, since the tuition here often takes place in very small classes. You must add DKK 36,800 for both day students and boarders.

In the Pre-IB the extra money to be paid is DKK 18,400 (both day students and boarders).

All school fees must be paid 3 months in advance at 3-month intervals.

Grants:

It is possible to get grants to lower the fees in order that financial problems prevent suitable and motivated students from going to Herlufsholm. See the page “Grants” and “Application form”.

State grants:

After the 18th birthday students may receive (upon application) grants from S.U. A boarder is considered as living away from home and  may get a higher grant.
