The boarding school
Welcome to a very special community that embraces you, makes your daily life more enjoyable, and gives you friendships that will last a lifetime. When you move in as a boarder, you will live together with your peers in one of the school's student houses. Moving away from home and into a student house can be both exciting and challenging, as you’ll share your home and daily life with a large group of peers, while also adapting to a new set of rules and guidelines.
Your other home
At Herlufsholm Boarding School, you will experience that we make a great effort to help you become part of the house community. Your boarding teacher will, in the beginning, create an environment where all the students in the house get to know each other and help you with the rhythm of daily life, as well as understanding what is expected of you and what you can expect from others.
The dorm layout
When you move into your dorm, you will be given a room called a 'hummer.' This is where you can do homework, relax, have free time, and sleep. In addition, the dorm room has various shared facilities, such as a living room, a small kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, as well as a washing machine and dryer.
Most students are assigned a single 'hummer,' but in some cases, you may need to share your room with a peer. At a minimum, the room will be furnished with a bed, wardrobe, and a workspace consisting of a desk, chair, shelf, and desk lamp. You are welcome to bring items to make your 'hummer' more personal.
Each dorm also has a boarding teacher, who lives privately within the dorm as part of the community.
