Students cheering and having fun at Herlufsholm

Move in with all your friends

In addition to your exam diploma, the Herlovian community is the most important thing you take with you as a graduate from Herlufsholm. During your time with us, you will make fantastic friends both in Denmark and abroad, and especially as a boarding student, you will experience that when living so closely side by side, you come to feel like one big family.

We take care of each other

Most days, being a boarding student is great. Living with your classmates makes everyday life more fun because you can do homework together, go to things like football, music lessons, or debate practice with someone, or just hang out on the couch and watch TV. There’s always something happening if you want to participate. You can also find peace in your room, work on a tough assignment with a good friend, or just enjoy some alone time.

On each student dorm, there is a boarding teacher with their family. Your boarding teacher leads the dorm and looks after you. If you feel homesick, need an adult, or feel worried, stressed, or anything else, it’s comforting to have a close adult contact.

Move in with your friends

You make a big decision when you choose to become a boarding student at Herlufsholm. Living together in a community teaches you to be considerate of others and open to the fact that people prioritize and live differently than you. These are valuable qualities to carry forward in life.

The strong sense of community and positive experiences—whether as a day student or a boarding student—are what make our students enjoy coming back to visit their old school. Herlufsholm has Denmark's oldest alumni network, the Herlovian Society, and also offers an alumni network that connects you with your own class as well as older and younger classes.

So, when you move in, you gain hundreds of new friends, and you also become part of a tradition that spans more than 450 years and a network that extends far beyond the school grounds and your time at Herlufsholm.

Dipelhuset

Dipelhuset is our student house, run by the student council. 'Dipel' comes from the word 'disciple' and means student. Dipelhuset is open every day, offering you the opportunity to enjoy hot cocoa, coffee, and tea.

After Herlufsholm

There will come a time when you no longer have your daily life at Herlufsholm. If you wish to stay in touch with your friends and maintain your network, you have the opportunity to register for free with Herlufsholm's online Alumni Network or join the independent student association, the Herlovianersamfundet.
