Exchange Program
The world awaits
If you want to experience another country as a student at a foreign school, you have the opportunity to take part in a short exchange program.
As a member of the international Round Square school network, Herlufsholm embraces Kurt Hahn's philosophy of challenging students to push themselves. Through the school's various Round Square activities, students are given a range of challenges that require courage, independence, imagination, and determination. One of these challenges is standing (almost) alone in a foreign country.
Become an exchange student
It can be demanding to be an exchange student. You need to have the academic capacity to step out of your own class for a while, and we expect you to actively participate in getting the most out of your stay. As an exchange student, you must also be prepared to host the student you are exchanging with, either before or after your own stay. It's an exciting task that will give you an incredible understanding of another culture, but it will also teach you about your own.

Round Square at Herlufsholm
At Herlufsholm, we have a Round Square Committee that works to ensure that the school and its students embrace the six IDEALS. IDEALS stands for Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. Essentially, it means that students should approach the world around them with curiosity and an open mind, be willing to take responsibility and leadership, engage in the challenges they face, and help those whose paths they cross.
In addition to exchange programs, Herlufsholm's Round Square activities also include conferences and voluntary charitable work.
