Life as a Day Student

We want Herlufsholm to be more than just a place where you attend school. All students share a daily lunch in the school dining halls, can participate in extracurricular activities after classes, and have plenty of opportunities to get involved in the school’s life and many activities. Herlufsholm is a private and boarding school that offers both high academic standards and a focus on well-being. Herlufsholm provides education for students from 6th to 9th grade in the lower school, as well as STX and the IB Diploma in the upper school. Most day students are local children who choose Herlufsholm as a strong academic alternative to public schools. Since students travel to school by public transport each day, we recommend living no farther than Køge, Slagelse, or Vordingborg.

Admission for Day Students

Applicants are invited to an interview at the school. If applying for the Danish upper secondary program (STX), the interview will be conducted by the head of the upper school. Please note that the application deadline for STX is March 1st via Optagelse.dk.

Interviews typically take place in January and February.
