IT-Policy
Many students use the school's IT facilities every day. Therefore, it is necessary to have common rules for the use of IT at Herlufsholm. All students are required to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the school's IT policy:
- It is illegal to download and forward certain files and texts. Ask the IT department if you are unsure about the copyright of a file.
- It is illegal to gain access to someone else's computer/tablet/smartphone, passwords, and networks (hacking).
- To prevent hacking of Herlufsholm's network, it is very important that you protect your login information. A password is as personal as codes for credit cards, and you should never lend it to others. If you suspect that someone else is using your password, you must immediately change it and inform the IT department.
- You are not allowed to change settings or install programs on the school's computers. If you need a program, you can contact the IT department, which will install it if possible.
- You may only use the school's network (both wired and wireless), and it is not allowed to create file sharing, subnets, or workgroups via the school networks. It is not allowed to create wireless networks with the same SSID as Herlufsholm's network. If a temporary wireless network causes interference with the school's permanent wireless network, Herlufsholm has the right to require this network to be shut down.
- For security reasons, it is strictly prohibited to connect a private Mac/PC to the school's wired network.
- Students are not allowed to produce, download, or distribute material that goes against the school's values when using Herlufsholm's IT systems. This includes material that is racist, sexist, pornographic, or defamatory. The rules for common courtesy and mutual respect naturally also apply in IT contexts.
- In cases where there is suspicion of misuse of the IT systems, it may be necessary for the school to access the student's Herlufsholm email and files on the school's network.
- If you experience errors while using the school's IT equipment, please report it immediately to the IT department. This way, we ensure that the equipment works for everyone.
