Policy on Narcotic Substances

The purpose of Herlufsholm School's policy on narcotic substances is to promote a good study environment that fosters healthy communities. The use of narcotic substances is incompatible with learning. Students at Herlufsholm School commit to complying with the rules in effect at any given time.

Being under the influence of, consuming, storing, or trading any form of narcotic substances is prohibited at Herlufsholm School. Such actions will, under normal circumstances, result in immediate expulsion from the school, either temporarily or permanently.

Testing

The school reserves the right to test, without notice, whether a student has consumed narcotic substances.

Sanctions

Sanctions related to narcotic substances are referred to the general sanctions options described in the school's study and conduct regulations.

Substance Abuse Strategy

Schools and youth education institutions in Næstved Municipality have developed a Joint Substance Abuse Strategy to ensure that as many young people as possible complete an education. In this strategy, substances refer to both alcohol and narcotic substances.

Substances and education cannot be combined. Being able to spot abuse and engage in conversations with young people are some of the tools used.

You cannot focus on learning if you are drunk or high. This has never been in doubt in the SSP+ collaboration, which has therefore taken the initiative to create the new substance abuse strategy in order to professionally address the young people who have a problematic relationship with alcohol and drugs.
