A part of your education
- A study trip is a part of your education - you are travelers, not just tourists. You are expected to be proactive and engaged rather than passive participants.
- Be prepared to face challenges on a study trip - these may relate to academics, comfort, or physical activity. However, challenges also provide opportunities to discover new aspects of yourself, gain new knowledge and experience different ways of being in the world.
- The study trip has clearly defined goals, and the preparation beforehand helps clarify the knowledge and skills required to complete the planned activities, as well as what you can gain from participating in the trip.
- During the trip, you are expected to identify learning competencies and evaluate their development before, during, and after the journey. Additionally, you should reflect on the knowledge and experiences gained throughout the process.

The school aims to have a staff member ready to travel if an extraordinary situation arises – this is coordinated with Jimmy Burnett Nielsen.
If it becomes necessary to send a student home, this will be at the student’s own expense, and the cost will be deducted from the main account.
The school has travel insurance covering basic needs such as repatriation and lost luggage. However, personal insurance is recommended.
After the trip
Take some time to reflect when you return home. Traveling with your classmates and school is a significant experience. Take the time to think about:
- What did you gain from the experience?
- What did you learn?
- How did you contribute?
- How have you grown?
Share your experiences – for example, by writing a report for your teacher, an article for the school newsletter, sharing a picture or video on our Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, or giving a presentation at a morning assembly.
