Driver's License and Driving Policy

Parking is only permitted in designated parking spaces.

Staff parking – Reserved for staff and school guests. 

Guest parking – Reserved for staff and guests between 07:30 and 16:00. 

Student parking – Parking for both boarding and day students. 

If a car is parked on a designated fire lane, the owner of the car will be contacted and asked to move the car immediately. 

Violating the parking regulations may result in the student losing permission to drive a car to school and park on school grounds. 

For day students with a driving license, arrangements regarding transportation to and from school are a matter between the student and their parents. 

The car must be parked at the cemetery directly opposite the school.

Boarding students may only drive to and from Herlufsholm and have their car parked on school grounds if they have an approved permit from the school, agreed upon by both the student and their parents. 

The main purpose of this driving model is to allow boarding students to drive to and from Herlufsholm in connection with travel weekends. 

Car keys must be handed in to the boarding teacher upon arrival at school. 

Boarding students may have access to their car during their stay at school if they have an approved permit from the school, agreed upon by both the student and their parents. 

The main purpose of this driving permit is to allow boarding students to drive outside school hours on the same basis as day students who have a car.

Boarding students with a car (with parental consent) MUST inform the boarding teacher which of the two models they wish to use. 

 
Drivers license

Students at Herlufsholm have the opportunity to obtain a driver's license during their time at school. The driving lessons require an absence of between 15 and 20 hours, covering activities such as lessons at the driving range, motorway driving, skidpad driving, and participation in theoretical and practical exams.

It is mandatory that the school is informed when a student begins the driver's license process. The necessary absence due to driving lessons is recorded as absence, and the student is responsible for stating the reason for the absence in Lectio.

To minimize disruption in regular classes, it is not allowed to schedule driving lessons during scheduled class time.
