Herluf Trolle turns 502 in 2018!
13/12-2017Sunday, January 14, we celebrate Herluf Trolle’s birthday - 502 years.
According to tradition, students, staff and Gammelherlovianere (alumi) gather in the church at dawn, all in their seats by 7:20. When the flag is carried into the church at 7:30 am, the ceremony starts. There will be a speech by this year’s Trolle speaker, and the students will walk in a procession past the founders of the school. We send them our heartfelt gratitude for having donated their home to be used as a school.
After church there is breakfast for all participants. The students will have their Trolle morning buffet in the dining halls, while Gammelherlovianere and guests are served breakfast in Festsalen.
In the evening we have the annual Trollebal to which the parents of students in 3.g are invited. The 3.g class opens the ball in Festsalen at 6:00 pm.
There is a Trolle party for the middle school in Hylen from 7:00 pm - 10:45 pm, Trolle café for 10th grade, 1.g and 2.g in Galen from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm after which they join the Trollebal in Festsalen.
Trollebal closes with fireworks over Nyhave at 10:45 pm.
